In Cleaning Up Local Government

San Diego property is so valuable that our rights to our public & private lands are disappearing
Officials and developers have launched a massive land grab over Mission Bay Park, the Qualcomm Stadium property, Navy Broadway and Sports Arena/95 acres of City owned & nearby private properties. Behind-the-scenes scheming is proceeding to dispose of our military properties, tidelands, airports and other public properties. The 30 ft. Coastal Height Limit Law is under threat. To prevent an iron curtain of high-rise towers, a public voice and coalition must counter the corruption and appetite of the greed machine that permeates our city.

MISSION:
The San Diego Coastal Alliance addresses coastal quality, development and land issues; with the goal of moving towards enlightened stewardship of the coast. Our role is to challenge all parties with vested interests in the coast, to work together to halt the continued degradation of the coast and start finding ways to restore its beauty and accessibility, and to ensure that the big pictures as well as small issues are heard.
The Mission - Be a public citizen voice to:

  • Monitor government actions effecting to coastal & San Diego development.
  • Research alternative uses for public lands that protect public ownership and access.
  • Protect the coast from over densification and 30 foot height busting development.
  • Keep citizens informed of coastal issues.
  • Create an united citizen voice that government officials will listen t
  • Facilitate legal action when necessary to protect the coast
  • Educate citizens, politicians and businesses on the benefits of retaining and having access to our public lands.

"If people destroy something replaceable made by mankind, they are called vandals; if they destroy something irreplaceable made by nature they are called developers."
